INDIA MENTOR


INDIA MENTOR MENTOR was a strategic project with the aim of reinforcing Euro-India cooperation in Research and Development (R&D) in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector. India Mentor was aimed at facilitating the participation of Indian organisations in the ICT funding programme of the European Union through mentoring events and follow up services addressed to Indian IT research organisations and through capacity building for the Indian National Contact Point (NCP) Network. India Mentor based on the success of the INCITE project that laid the foundation for effective uptake of EU projects by Indian organisations. India Mentor, started in January 2007, has run until December 2008 with the objectives of enhancing the participation of Indian organisations in the ICT programme of the EU both in quantitative and qualitative terms and strengthening the NCP network in India and its cooperation with the European NCP’s for a permanent and sustainable support to the participation of the Indian IT community in the EU ICT programmes. http://euroindiaresearch.org/



SOLAR-ICT


SOLAR-ICT main interest was to develop a joint Euro-Latin American development policies in ICT. SOLAR-ICT was an initiative that aimed at highlighting the opportunities and potentialities for European and Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) research collaboration in ICT by identifying common development goals and creating deeper strategic cooperation. SOLAR-ICT focuses on 6 LAC countries: Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay. Usually, efforts for strategic cooperation with LAC countries are focused on the larger countries with stronger economies, like Brazil, Argentina, Chile or Mexico, but LAC countries with smaller economies can also represent important and interesting openings for joint Euro-Latin American development policies in ICT. http://solar-ict.eu/



EUROLATSEA


EUROLATSEA aimed at supporting the access to research and development activities and to new technologies for organisations (companies, including SMEs, research centres…) of the seafood industry (from capture to aquaculture to processing and distribution) in Latin-America, given its importance in fishing exports to Europe. The project provided scientific and technological advice to companies and research centres on the basis of careful analysis of their innovation needs in the traceability of seafood, in the improvement of quality of exports, safeguard of consumer health... http://eurolatseaproject.eu/



ENFUGEN


ENFUGEN action strongly contributed to strengthen the European Research Area (ERA), creating synergies between the scientific communities of MS and ACC Countries to better take advantage of European support to trans-national research in the field of fuell cells and renewable energy sources. In particular, it bore a structuring effect on European research in fuel cells and hydrogen energy, making it possible to gather critical masses of resources - present in Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia - to better co-ordinate national research efforts and to strengthen the activities carried out in Member States. http://enfugen.net/



SECURE-FORCE


The aim of SECURE-FORCE was directed to the promotion of the involvement of SME’s / SME groupings in existing and new European R&D Projects in the field of security, through an innovative methodology based on awareness creation, knowledge sharing, support, training and match-making actions, involving the world leaders in the sector. The project addressed the global ICT security issues that represented more than 13 billion EUR in 2004. Specific attention has been paid to: the cyber crime & terrorism related issues, privacy and data protection and network and info security; Hardware management; Crisis management. SECURE-FORCE contributed to the reduction of the fragmentation of IST sectors and particularly in the domain of security by creating synergies and interactions between research and innovation activities carried out at national, regional and European level. ERMES


ERMES aimed at supporting access to research and development activities and to new technologies for SMEs of the seafood industry (from capture to aquaculture to processing and distribution) in the Mediterranean area. The project provided scientific and technological advise to companies on the basis of careful analysis of their innovation needs. The project directly involved 5 reputed research organisations from Spain, France, Italy and Greece and had a strong potential to help improving the quality of seafood processing in the Mediterranean region. The project combined the expertise of scientific institutions with that of business support organisations (Chamber of Commerce from different Mediterranean countries) in charge of contacting, informing and profiling companies likely to be assisted by the project in different countries. http://www.ermesproject.org



TRANSFER EAST


TRANSFER-EAST was a Specific Support Action, entirely financed by the DG INFSO, within the Sixth Framework Program. The project aimed at favouring the transfer of learning, facilitating the exchange of e-government good practices and their transfer when appropriate and contributing to enhance the quality of e-government initiatives across Europe. TRANSFER-EAST main objective was to accelerate the transition phase to information economy and improve the efficiency of the Public Administration – Business relationship.



APPEAR


APPEAR was a pilot communication project conceived to boost the public perception of four Life Science research projects. Managed by a pool of communication and consultancy companies,the project enhanced the visibility of European medical research on the media, supporting the concept that joining forces among European countries can highly benefit the life of European citizens. http://www.appear-project.org



SEE INNOVATION


SEE-Innovation was a Specific Support Action aiming to assist SMEs from candidate and third countries from the region of South Eastern Europe (SEE) to participate actively in EU-funded research in the field of Information Society Technologies. SEE Innovation managed to provide an extensive mapping of ICT research competencies across Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, FYROM, Romania, Serbia, Montenegro and Turkey. The project delivered a series of coaching services to SMEs from the region helping them to actively take part in FP6 and FP7 activities. http://www.zsi.at



GREAT-IST


GREAT-IST was a strategic project involving the target countries of Central and Eastern Europe, namely the Western Balkans, the Newly Independent States and the Associated Candidate Countries. The target countries are subdivided into the following four categories: 1) Candidate countries: Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania; 2) Western Balkans: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) and Serbia and Montenegro; 3) Newly Independent States: Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine. The brought together the IST research stakeholders of target countries and of other European countries, to share visions and experience in implementing Information Society, to contribute towards harmonisation of IST research priorities and to enhance co-operation in the broader area of the “Great European East” in a view of facilitating gradual integration at a pan-European level.



MERIPA


MERIPA took an integrated approach to regional development, bringing together actors from different sectors (research institutions, public authorities and the business community) from across European regions. It sought to boost innovative thinking and assess the existing regional approaches for innovation in order to propose a common European innovation methodology based on the project studies in 5 different European regions. The overall objective of MERIPA project was to develop a comprehensive and coherent methodology for assessing different regional policies on research and innovation, which could contribute to improving the regional understanding of effective innovation policy measures in a European context. In connection with this, a set of benchmarking indicators has been defined and a benchmarking tool developed in order to allow the trans-regional comparison of the impact of different strategies and policies on innovation performance. http://meripa.odeum.com



INCITE


INCITE was a highly strategic initiative responding to the need of giving Euro-Indian R&D relations a permanent co-operation basis. It combined 2 blocks of activities: the mapping of Indian IT R&D resources, and the establishment, in cooperation with the Indian Government, of a National Contact Point in India for the ICT programme. INCITE had a major impact in stepping up the level of Indian participation to FP activities in the ICT area. http://inciteproject.org/



FASTER


FASTER provided a platform of high added value services to European SME’s from the transport sector and related business areas. Its consortium consisted of organisations with privileged links to European SME’s and consultancy companies which combined expertise in the sectors focus of this project and successful experience in facilitating the participation of SME’s in RTD activities. The project enabled the involvement of 4000 European SMEs informed about EU funded research projects, 55 of which successfully included in submitted projects.



PATENT


PATENT promoted European SMEs’ participation in FP6 research activities, by providing SMEs of digital and cross media sector high added value advise services on research potential assessment, technological auditing and definition of participation in ongoing or to be submitted proposals. PATENT supported multimedia and content developer SMEs in fully exploiting their potential and the technological solutions available in Europe, by using EU funding for technology development applied to content creation and distribution.



SURE


SURE was designed to respond to different needs felt by European cities and their citizens, especially in urban crisis areas, where the economic and social transformation led to the emergence of new social, environmental and specifically urban problems (loss of jobs and rise of unemployment, loss of public services, unsafe neighbourhood, brownfields, high pollution levels, degeneration of public spaces).
